Job time tracking lets your team time the work they do on each job. Start the timer when work begins, pause it when work stops, and end it when the work is done.
Two Kinds of Time
Employee time: Clock In to Clock Out. This is the person's whole workday.
Job time: Start Job Time to End Job Time. This is time spent on one specific job.
They work side by side. Job time never changes a person's Clock In or Clock Out.
Example: Maria clocks in for 8 hours. She spends 2.5 hours on Job #1, 3 hours on Job #2, and 1.5 hours on Job #3. Her job time is 7 hours. The other 1 hour is time she was clocked in but not on a job.
Where to Find It
Open any job and click the Job Time Log tab. It sits next to Items and Job Costing.
What You Can Do
Start, pause, resume, and end a timer right from the job. Pause when someone leaves for materials and resume when they're back.
Track each team member separately. Everyone on a job has their own timer.
See every entry in the Job Time Log tab on the job.
See job time in Timesheets, under each person's day.
Feed Job Costing, so labor cost uses real hours.
Fix mistakes if someone forgets to start or end a timer.
