Managing an Active Recurring Series

Editing, pausing, resuming, and ending a series, plus what its statuses and badges mean.

Manage every recurring schedule from one place. the customer, billing frequency, next invoice date, invoices issued, and whether it's Active, Paused, or Ended, all on your Recurring tab.

Quick Actions: Click the ⋮ menu next to any active schedule:

  • Edit series: Change the frequency, days, or payment method.

  • Send next invoice now: Don't wait for the date, send it today.

  • Skip next invoice: Skip just the next one and keep the rest of the schedule running.

  • Pause series: Put billing on hold.

  • End series: Stop it for good.

Pausing and Resuming: Pause a schedule any time without losing it, click Resume series when you're ready to start billing again.

Example: A seasonal customer pauses service for the winter. Pause their recurring billing schedule, then click Resume series when service starts back up in the spring.

Ending a Series: Ending a schedule stops it from creating new invoices. Invoices it already sent stay exactly as they were. This can't be undone, so if there's any chance you'll pick billing back up later, pause it instead of ending it.

Reading the Status and Sending Columns:

  • Active, Paused, Ended: Where the schedule stands right now.

  • Automatic: The invoice sends itself on schedule.

  • Draft: The invoice is created but waits for your team to send it.

  • A small card icon next to Automatic means the schedule also charges a saved card automatically.
