Learn how to configure your business SMS number, customize message templates, and track your monthly usage limits to ensure seamless communication with your clients.

Updated over 2 months ago

Step 1: Access SMS Settings

  1. Click on your Avatar in the top right corner of the dashboard.

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  3. Scroll down to the Communication section.

  4. Click on SMS Settings.

Step 2: Configure Your Business Number

If you are setting this up for the first time, you need to establish your dedicated line.

  1. Under Your WIZniche Number, you will see a field for Phone Number.

  2. Quickly search, select and save your number.

  3. Within seconds, this number will be saved and will serve as the central line for all incoming and outgoing SMS communications with your customers.

Note: Messages will only be sent to customers who have the "Send text notifications" toggle turned ON in their profile.

When creating or editing a Customer, look for the Contact Information section and ensure this switch is toggled to the right (Active).

Step 3: Understanding Usage and Limits

Your ability to send messages depends on your subscription plan. You can track your real-time usage in the top right corner of the SMS Settings page.

Plan Allowances:

  • Kick-Starter Plan: 250 SMS messages per month.

  • Starter / Team / Professional Plans: 2,500 SMS messages per month.

Pro Tip: If you see the progress bar approaching 100%, click the Upgrade button to purchase additional SMS credits so your communication is not interrupted.

Step 4: Customizing Text Templates

WIZniche allows you to automate notifications for key events (e.g., "Send Quote Notification," "Job Scheduled," "On My Way"). You can customize exactly what these messages say.

  1. Scroll down to the Text Templates section.

  2. Click Edit (Pencil Icon) on the card you wish to change (e.g., Send Quote Notification).

  3. Edit Message: Type your custom message in the text box. You can see a live Preview of how it will look on a mobile phone on the right side.

  4. Compliance:

    • Include default opt out text: We highly recommend keeping this checked. It adds "Reply STOP to opt out" to your message, keeping you compliant with spam laws.

  5. Save: Click Update to save your changes.

Made a mistake? Click Restore to default to reset the message to the original WIZniche template.

Step 5: Opt In and Out Keywords

To comply with telecom regulations, WIZniche automatically handles subscription statuses based on specific keywords customers reply with. You can view these under the Opt In and Out section:

  • To Opt In: If a customer replies START or SUB, they are subscribed to messages.

  • To Opt Out: If a customer replies STOP or UNSUB, the system will automatically block further messages to them until they opt back in.
