Why is this important?
The Billing Settings page allows you to standardize how you request payment. By setting default Invoice Terms (like Net 30), you automate due dates. You can easily configure Credit Card Service Fees, set up automatic Tax Computation or enable Tips for your business.
Step 1: Access Billing Settings
Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
Scroll down to the Accounting section.
Click on Billing.
Step 2: Invoice Preferences
This section controls the default behavior for every new invoice you create.
Preferred Invoice Terms: Use the dropdown menu to select when you expect payment.
Due Upon Receipt: Payment is due immediately when the customer receives the invoice.
Net 15 / 30 / 60: Payment is due 15, 30, or 60 days after the invoice date.
Billing Address Email: Enter the email address that will appear on your invoices. This is where customers will send replies if they have questions about their bill.
Note: Setting terms here sets the default. You can still manually change the due date on individual invoices if needed.
Step 3: Tax & Fees configuration
This section allows you to automate tax calculations and manage payment service fees.
Tax Computation
Enable Tax Computation: Check this box to automatically calculate tax on your invoices.
Tax Rate (%): Enter your local sales tax percentage (e.g., 7.5). This percentage will be applied to all taxable line items on your invoices.
Credit Card Service Fees
Allow Credit Card Service Fee: Check this box to enable the fee.
Service Fee (%): Enter the percentage you wish to charge (e.g., 3.0%).
How it works: If a client chooses to pay via Credit Card, this percentage gets added to their total automatically.

Tips
Enable Tips: Check this box if you want to give customers the option to add a gratuity/tip when they pay their invoice online.
Step 4: Save Your Changes
Once you have configured your preferences, you must click the blue Save button in the bottom right corner to apply these settings to your account.
