When quotes, jobs, assessments, and invoices are linked to a project, they all roll up into that one project. You always know which work belongs to which project.
How Work Gets Linked
Create quotes, assessments, jobs, and invoices for the project, and they link to it automatically. Work you convert along the way keeps the project link too.
Example: You create an assessment inside a project, turn it into a quote, convert the approved quote into a job, and then create an invoice from the job. All four stay linked to the same project. Even a quote created from inside a job links back to the project.
Where to Find Linked Work
Open the project and use the tabs:
Quotes: Every quote, with its status.
Assessment: Every assessment.
Jobs: Every job, including upcoming ones.
Invoices: Every invoice and its payment status.
Getting Back to the Project
Linked work always points back to its project:
On a quote, a View Project button sits next to the quote number.
On a job or invoice, a project button sits right below the job or invoice number.
Click it any time to jump back to the project.
How Quotes Affect the Money
The first quote your customer approves becomes the project's contract price. Every quote approved after that becomes a change order. See Project: Understanding Project Finances.
Example: You can send several quotes on one project. The customer approves the main work first, then approves an add-on a week later. The first is your contract price and the second is a change order.
