Project: Understanding Project Finances

How contract price, change orders, paid, and remaining amounts are worked out for you.

Every project keeps a running money total for you. These numbers are worked out from your quotes and invoices, so you never type them in.

The Numbers on the Timeline

  • Contract Price: The amount of the first quote your customer approves.

  • Change Orders: The total of every quote approved after the first one.

  • Total Amount: Contract price plus change orders plus any additional total amount you add at the time of project creation.

  • Paid Amount: Everything the customer has paid on this project's invoices.

  • Remaining Amount: Total amount minus paid amount.

When the Numbers Change

  • They update when a quote is approved.

  • They update when an invoice is paid.

When you create a project, the Total Amount you enter is your starting estimate. WIZniche keeps it up to date from there.

An Example, Start to Finish

  1. Your customer approves your first quote for $5,000. Contract Price: $5,000. Total Amount: $5,000.

  2. They decide to add a deck. You send a second quote for $1,200, and they approve it. Change Orders: $1,200. Total Amount: $6,200.

  3. They pay a $2,000 deposit invoice. Paid Amount: $2,000. Remaining Amount: $4,200.

Where Else You'll See These Numbers

  • The Total Revenue box on the Projects page adds up the paid amounts from all your projects.

  • Your customer sees the same totals on their project in Client Hub.
