Project: Managing Tasks in a Project

Use tasks for quick to-dos on a project, and watch them move your progress bar.

Tasks are quick to-dos for your team, like "order materials" or "call the inspector." Every task you add to a project counts toward its progress.

The Tasks Tab: Creating and Assigning Tasks

Open a project and click Tasks. You only see tasks that belong to this project. Four views help you sort them, and each shows a count:

  • All: Every task in the project.

  • Upcoming: Tasks that are due soon.

  • Past Due: Tasks that missed their due date.

  • Completed: Tasks that are done.

Assign a task to a team member and give it a due date. When they finish it, they cross it off. It moves to Completed, and the project's progress goes up.

Example: You add a task "Order cabinets" and assign it to Maria, due Tuesday. She orders them, crosses the task off, and the project's progress bar moves up.

Where Tasks Show Up

  • On the project's Overview calendar, until they're completed.

  • On Employee's Task Sidebar.

  • In the Tasks count on the project's tabs.

  • In the task count on the project's dashboard card.
